I guess many have mentioned this before.
Diversity should not be based on "country" as well. For example I can easily say that "India" has to be considered as "20 different countries", if it divided based on diversity. And probably many of the europian countries combined should be "1 country".
Means if the diversity quota is 100 per year, to call for proper diversity.....
2000 for India...

There are 20 K EB visas left from the regular EB category for this fiscal and there are minimum of 20k FB visas which spill over for EB.
Thus conservative estimate 40k visas are available for use before Sep 30th. Liberal estimate the numbers could be higher.

So even if they used up just 30% in next 5 months, there will be very few Visas left over. If their target did not include the spill overs, then you are right. Just fill out the forms and submit them. It is very easy. It took 6 months for me to get the PR in the Socialist Canada. Then it took 1 month for me I should get out of there quickly. Very low pace, not many high level employment, high taxes. I visited a friend there last weekend. In Vancouver, it rains like hell and it is depressing to me. I said, darn, why am I living here? If I am not going to have significant career advancement, I should go back home than staying here enjoying this rain. In Toronto it is cold like hell. Go there and spend a couple of weeks and see if you like it. People are usually friendly there. In the end, it depends on how bad is back home when compared to Canada. Good luck.

not really..i think we want to give a benefit of doubt to the amway person not to do this and lose our friendship (esp when close friends do this to you). We know how to be tough. Been there done that. I came to a conclusion that people who cannot understand the value of friendship can never be true friends. Esp when my close friend spoiled his friendship with me due to amway.
We desis are too polite and can't say NO easily like others. I have learnt to say NO in the US now, makes my life much easier....be nice and say no politely.

I find it abominable that there are still some humans(?) left in this century who want special benefits based on their race and country-of-origin in this 21st century !
It's time people were measured on merit instead of he is Indian, Chinese or some other nationality. Eliminating country quotas is part of IV strategy on the homepage. If someone has issues with it, well you are working against IV strategy !
Stop dividing people based on ethnicity - Indians, Chinese and others. Every one deserves equal opportunity, not based on their country, race or color (all abominable ideas to me) , but purely on merit.

I understand that per country cap is painful for certain countries. But i think they want the employment based immigrant community to be as versatile as possible. I have never heard someone complaining about the DV program where certain countries are not allowed to participate. The reason behind is that they want people from all over the world not just from certain parts of the world.

You are right on the point. In fact (I may be overly optimistic here), I would not be surprised at all to see PD of EB2I in 2007 or 2008 in the last quarter (Aug-Sept) and it may even see the magincal "C" in Sept 2010. (Making the dream come true for VDLRAO!!)
(Remember, with preadjudications, there are no more pending EB2-ROW (except for the new adjudications) and EB2 China has been in 2006 for quite some time as well in the past)

If the prior experience was related to your field, then I don't see why not. You may want to hurry because if USIS comes with 45-day labor expiration rule soon (which they may), you may not be able to use the prior approved labor.

i graduated in June 2000, so i am about 1 year short for the 2003 PD. However i did some part time work during college in India and the lawyer says if i can get exp. letter from that company on a letter head, that should suffice.
i am concerned if that India exp. during graduation will work or not.
Has anyone faced a situation like this?
the (part time exp)company was very small, can this be risky? what do you guys think?

I know it is very difficult because kennedy is very pissed off with the failure of CIR. Kennedy will only consider this, if this really becomes a full blown issue beyond a certain magnitude. Then we have people like Hagel, Lieberman, Cornyn, cantwell who supported bigger amendments than this. It is a matter of making this a bigger/biggest issue related with USCIS and immigration.

Is AILA doing anything about it? Do they need IV member support? How do we make it clear to the USCIS and Govt that targetting H1b and the free will of the employer to hire H1b is PURE SOCIALISM and anti-capitalism. It is a sure way of destroying the capitalistic engine that is keeping the US ahead. Is US becoming a restrictive economy like China? China is moving slowly but surely out of its old ways and becoming more and more open to capitalistic policies and we are finding the US slipping slowly but surely into protectionism and more socialistic principles.

This thought of submission is exactly what has always pulled India back from moving forward. That unless you are corrupt you are not normal. Speaking out against corruption is abnormality for us. Just starting out schemes does not ensure good. If everybody from the CM to the peon in the office demands his share how does the money trickle down to the needy?
